Grave Davies, a 20-year-old singer, from Blackburn leaves Nicole Scherzinger in tears after performing an original song.
The youngster, who works in a warehouse and sings in local clubs, revealed that she was told that she would never be successful by friends.
She told the judges that she wanted to prove those who said she’d be stuck singing in pubs that they were wrong.
As she sang Roots, which she penned herself, Nicole could be seen struggling to fight back tears alongside fellow judge Sharon Osbourne.
Both were clearly overcome with emotion and at one point, Sharon was spotted wiping away tears as Grace performed for the panel.
Viewers will have to wait until tonight’s episode to find out if Grace, who also broke down in tears, will make it to the Bootcamp round of the ITV singing competition.
It comes after Nicole hit Simon Cowell on the arm after he made a joke about her age during Sam Black’s audition.
After the Liverpudlian performed for the judges, the former Pussycat Dolls star revealed she wanted to squeeze his cheeks and that he was older than her boyfriend.
Simon quipped: “Your boyfriend is half your age? That’s ridiculous.”
Nicole pretended to be outraged as she laughed: “50-years-old, no way,” before hitting him on the arm.
The X Factor airs on ITV tonight at 8pm.
