Philippe Coutinho was apparently distraught over his failed dream move to Barcelona

According to reports in Spain, the 25-year-old learned his dream move to the Nou Camp was off on Friday while on international duty.
Coutinho is now set to stay at Anfield for at least one more season after Liverpool rejected a number of mega-money offers from the LaLiga giants.
Barcelona’s final bid reportedly came in at around £136million, but even that was not enough to tempt the Reds into letting their star man go, having insisted earlier in the transfer window that he was not for sale at any price.
Coutinho was said to be desperate to join the Catalan club, who were eying the Brazilian maestro as a possible replacement for Neymar following his world-record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
He had handed in a transfer request to try and force the switch, but his plea was ignored by the Liverpool hierarchy.
And, according to reports from Calcio Mercato, the Liverpool star was spotted crying by his international team-mates after he was made aware on Friday – the final day of the Spanish transfer window – that the move wasn’t happening.
Coutinho has not appeared for Liverpool this season due to complaints of a back injury, however that didn’t stop him being selected for the Brazil squad for this international break and then passed fit to play in Thursday’s game against Ecuador.
The 25-year-old showed little signs of discomfort as he scored in the 2-0 victory, and team-mate and close friend Neymar admitted after the game that Coutinho is living with a ‘very great sadness’ after his dream move failed.
