Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle developer Ubisoft has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch game will launch with a season pass.
Ubisoft made the surprise announcement at Gamescom, revealing that the strategy game would continue to be supported after its August 29 release date.
The Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle season pass contains three pieces of DLC, including a new weapon set that will be available at launch.
This includes eight steampunk weapons, each one with its own unique statistics.
The second DLC pack will be released this autumn, and will contain new solo challenges and co-operative maps.
The third and final DLC pack adds brand new story content to the Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was officially unveiled by Nintendo icon Shigeru Miyamoto during the Ubisoft E3 conference.
The Nintendo Switch release is described as a Mario game that has never been done before.
The game has been in development for more than three years, and is described as a tactical adventure that’s exclusive to the new Nintendo console.
The Rabbids are transported into the Mushroom Kingdom, and team up with the likes of Mario and Princess Peach to save the land.
Fans can also buy a Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Collector’s Edition.
The Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Collector’s Edition comes with a Rabbids figurine, a set of cards, a soundtrack CD and more.
