will be back with a bang this September with the US technology giant expected to lift the lid on its all-new .

This rebooted and totally refreshed smartphone looks likely to be one of the most radically different iPhones the world has ever seen.

Rumours are rife that Apple has completely redesigned its next flagship to feature a giant edge-to-edge display which will cover almost the entire front of the phone.

An updated and a new A11 chip should bring one of the most smooth experiences ever to a smartphone.

Other features expected to land on the iPhone 8 include iris/facial recognition which will unlock the device just by glancing at it and an updated dual-lens rear camera.

With Apple celebrating the iPhone’s 10th anniversary this year, fans should expect something pretty special to arrive next month and it seems we may now know exactly when this device will be launched.

Express.co.uk recently predicted the iPhone would arrive early next month and a new rumour from Mac4ever suggests September 12th is the day Apple will reveal all.

This date has allegedly been received from telecoms companies who will clearly know the launch date in readiness for the huge surge in interest that’s expected.

Although there’s no confirmation of this date, another recent leak, posted on Twitter, suggests the iPhone will be available to buy from around September 20.

Apple usually releases its new devices a week after the launch event so these two dates do appear to match.

We should get official confirmation soon, as Apple usually sends out invites to its big announcemnets around two weeks before they are made.

Along with the release date, another rumour that is doing the rounds is the iPhone 8’s price.

The New York Times is reporting that this latest iPhone will start at a price of $999 (£780).

The US based news site says this is according to people briefed on the product, who asked to remain anonymous.

It’s currently unclear if this price will be base model and if costs will be even higher for the top-end device with extra memory.

Apple’s current lineup of devices starts at £599 for the 32GB iPhone 7 but rises to £919 for the fully loaded iPhone 7 Plus.
